ARVIN
KARVE

I build software where security meets education access — and I play piano and dance when I'm not coding.

Work

CORE DEFENSES ↗

Software Engineer — ENADOX Team

Image ENADOX — shipped to production

Core Defenses builds data solutions for critical infrastructure. ENADOX is its self-healing data protection layer: it embeds redundancy into the data itself, so communications stay resilient across autonomous systems and in contested, degraded environments.

Pipeline
Built the pipeline that generates or accepts a photo and embeds protected data inside it, with resilience built into the data itself
App
Built the Android app that embeds one photo inside another and outputs the result as a multi-QR sequence for layered protection
Video
Built a secure video platform that ENADOXes live audio and video, embedding them into protected layers to keep real-time video conferencing safe
Built for
Engineered for critical infrastructure and contested, degraded environments
Outcome
Shipped into a production app

Pro bono websites for nonprofits

Hexadecimal Forest builds websites for organizations doing real work — clinics, environmental and conservation groups, and arts and education nonprofits — across Africa, Europe, Asia, and America.

BINARYTREE ↗

Director of International Partnerships and Education

Digital education for underserved communities

Worked to build partnerships with schools and organizations abroad and taught live sessions, alongside helping build the Binary Tree learning platform ↗ — offline-ready courses in digital literacy, programming, professional skills, and entrepreneurship, taught in English, Kiswahili, and French for classrooms with shared devices and unreliable internet.

FRC ROBOTICS

Electrical Lead & Safety Captain

Mind Over Metal → Zebracorns

Worked across the electrical and mechanical sides of the robot on Mind Over Metal, serving as electrical lead and safety captain, before joining the Zebracorns.

Research

DATA SCI × SEMICONDUCTOR

Software Engineer

Semiconductor Reliability & Defect Analysis

Purdue-affiliated research for NSF FuSe, contracting through Core Defenses. Built tools for solder-ball deformation and void analysis on CT scans, tracking how ball geometry and internal voids shift as parts go through thermal cycling. Solder joint failures can take down critical infrastructure hardware, so catching this early keeps systems reliable.

Cross-section CT image of a BGA solder ball with an overlay marking its top, base, and void centroid to measure fractional height Comparison of void centroid position within a solder ball before and after thermal cycling, plotted by height and horizontal shift CT scan void-contour snapshots comparing a solder ball before and after thermal cycling, with contour and centroid-shift overlays

AI Validation and Extension of a Classical Reactor-Dynamics Paper

Mentor: Rizwan Uddin, UIUC  ·  Status: Finalized

Two plots: the first Lyapunov coefficient split into competing mean-shift and second-harmonic channels, and their balance ratio crossing unity twice Three-panel analysis of two Bautin points: the first Lyapunov coefficient crossing zero, fold limit-cycle amplitudes on each side, and one branch's amplitude diverging

EXPLAINER 01 Partial Derivatives

How a function changes along one variable at a time, holding the rest fixed — the building block behind gradients and optimization.

EXPLAINER 02 Chirality

Why some molecules are mirror images that can't be superimposed on each other — and why that difference alone can change how a drug works in the body.

EXPLAINER 03 Bubble Sort

The simplest sorting algorithm there is: walk the list, swap any neighbors that are out of order, and repeat until nothing's left to swap.

Art

4A — PIANO

10+ years
at the keys.

Classical pianist. Guild State & National recognition. For me, piano is a way to unwind and a way to share art: a place to slow down, and a stage to put something beautiful in front of people.

4B — SAATH DANCE

Bhangra.
Bollywood.
Kuthu.

Junior leader, then senior leader, in SAATH, performing at school and cultural events. Dance is how I stay connected to my culture and community, and how I bring that culture to everyone watching.

About

Portrait of Arvin

I was born and raised to be a builder. Whatever tools are in front of me — code, circuits, a rivet gun — I use them to make cool stuff that actually works.

Right now that means computer science and software engineering, along with computer and electrical engineering. The next step is taking what I build further, into startups and business ventures of my own.
